Full Swing of Summer!
Thursday, July 08, 2010
Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had a great Independence Day weekend and a fireworks filled celebration! I spent mine in Edmonton, AB for the ATB Financial Classic presented by TELUS. Unfortunately I missed the cut thanks to the disappearing act my putting stroke pulled on Thursday. I bounced back on Friday to shot 70 (-1) and get some momentum back heading into this week's event in Saskatoon, SK.
I am right in the middle of a solid stretch of Canadian Tour events that, after the Saskatchewan Open, will take me to Winnipeg for our Players Cup Championship, an anticipated start in the RBC Canadian Open, and followed up by the Michigan PGA Tournament of Champions at the Boyne Mountain Resort & Spa.
Plans are also in the works for a trip to Oshkosh, WI for the 2010 EAA AirVenture to round out July. As many of you know, my long time friend John Burnside and I have launched a new and innovative flight planning tool for general aviation pilots called iFlightPlanner.com! We are extremely proud of it, and are heading to AirVenture to show it off to the 500,000 aviation enthusiasts who attend each year!
Wishing you all a safe and fun-filled summer! I sincerely appreciate all the support and look forward to catching up with many of you down the road!
All the best,
Andy
Summer 2010
Sunday, May 23, 2010
Hi everyone!
We have a busy summer ahead, and it will all start tomorrow with the International Final Qualifier (IFQ) for the (British) Open Championship in Dallas, TX. There will be 78 of us competing for eight spots directly into the Championship to be held at St. Andrews Golf Links in Scotland.
Next week I'll be in Victoria, British Colombia for the Times-Colonist Open. In between I'll spend a few days with Charley Vandenberg, my long-time coach getting ready for the summer swing.
It will surely be an exciting summer and I will be updating my schedule and results as the season progresses. Hopefully I'll see some of you along the way!
Thanks for all of your support!
Andy
PGA Tour Spring!
Monday, March 08, 2010
Hey everyone!
I know it's been a while since I've last written, but it's safe to say I've been quite busy!
After putting the clubs away last fall after a strong, but disappointing run through Q-School, I started to get back into the swing of things in mid-January playing some mini-tour events around Orlando. Once my game was back in shape I submitted my entries for three PGA Tour qualifiers. I entered the Monday qualifiers for the Honda Classic, Puerto Rico Open, and Transitions Championship in Tampa.
I am happy to report that we are two for two in getting starts on the 2010 PGA Tour. Last week in Palm Beach Gardens I tee'd it up with one of the best fields of the year at the PGA National Resort & Spa. And although I didn't play as well as I did during the Monday qualifier, I closed my round on Friday with three of the best swings of the week to birdie the par-5 18th.
From the Honda Classic I hopped on a plane to San Juan, Puerto Rico where today I fired a 3-under par 69 to earn one of the four remaining spots in the 2010 Puerto Rico Open. It was here in 2009 where I qualified as well and made my first cut on the PGA Tour, and I expect more great things this week!
Be sure to follow tape-delayed coverage on the Golf Channel this week! We will be playing the beautiful Trump International G.C. in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Thanks to all of you for your continued interest and support of my career! You're the best!
Sincerely, Andy
U.S. Open Local Qualifier
Monday, May 11, 2009
Today I played one of my favorite golf courses, Old Corkscrew G.C. in Estero, FL, for my U.S. Open Local Qualifier.
Of the 84 players competing, the 5 lowest scores plus 2 alternates would move on to the Sectional Qualifier June 8. Unfortunately a comedy of errors on my last hole of the day left me in 12th place and I failed to advance.
As a result of my runner-up finish in Mexico, several new opportunities have opened up that I have yet to decide on. As soon as my schedule is finalized I will post it to the website as soon as I can!
Thanks again to all of you who continue to check in and support my career, it means the world to me!
All the best, Andy
March Roundup
Friday, March 27, 2009
Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop in and say a HUGE thank-you to all who have sent messages over the past couple weeks. It has been a very exciting time on this end, and it makes it that much more fun when I hear all of you are enjoying it just as much as me!
After I returned to the mainland from Puerto Rico I played the very next morning in the Monday qualifier for the PGA Tour event in Tampa. I got off to a great start with 3 birdies in my first 4 holes, but wasn't able to pull it through to the finish. My "Plan B" became "Plan A" and I committed to play the 2-day No EXemptions Tour Championship in Orlando at Deer Island Country Club. There I shot back-to-back 67s for a 10-under total of 134 and a 3-shot victory! Needless to say I have been playing some of the best golf of my career!
I am now in Michigan taking a little time away from the golf course, but definitely not the practice tee. The weather has been great (all things considered) and I am really enjoying my time here with family and friends.
My next scheduled events are Nationwide Tour event qualifiers in Georgia towards the end of April. I have made a conscious effort to keep everything as up-to-date as possible here on the site, so be sure to check back often!
Thanks again for all your support, Andy
Spring 2009 Update ... finally!
Monday, February 23, 2009
Given that my last update was posted last September, I think we all can agree that this is well overdue!
A lot of great things have happened since the fall, most notably my play in the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. For the first time in 5 attempts I advanced into the second stage of qualifying, only to miss the final stage and guaranteed status on the Nationwide Tour by 2-shots. It was a bitter sweet finish and I would have no doubt been grateful for the opportunity to play in the Finals, but it was a great learning experience for me and I was extremely pleased with the way I played throughout.
Now fast forward about four months, and here I am writing you from Playa del Carmen, Mexico where I'm playing the Monday qualifier for the PGA Tour's Mayakoba Classic. This is the first of 4 consecutive Monday qualifiers that I will be playing on the PGA Tour in as many weeks. Next week is the Honda Classic in West Palm Beach, FL, followed by the Puerto Rico Open, and lastly the Transitions Championship in Tampa.
It will be a very busy schedule, but one that I am extremely looking forward to. Be sure to check in often as there will be plenty of schedule updates, results, and news to follow!
Until next time, Andy
Summer 2008 Update
Tuesday, September 02, 2008
A lot has happened since my last update, and I am happy to report that (most) all has been good!
At the Michigan Open early June, I steadily crept up the leaderboard to finish in 4th place with rounds of 71-66-70-73 (-7). After the Michigan Open I caught up with the Canadian Tour in Calgary, Alberta where I shot 68-67-71-66 and finished t35th. It was my first trip to Calgary, and although I didn’t see much other than the hotel, the golf course, and the road in between, my Dad made the trip up to caddie for me which absolutely made my week!
From Calgary it was off to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the Saskatchewan Open, an inaugural event on the Canadian Tour. I played well shooting rounds of 70-71 (-3) but watched the cut move to -5 and as a result, caught an earlier than expected flight back to Michigan.
After a week off I set off to Winnipeg, Manitoba for the $200,000 Canadian Tour Players Cup. I had played well in Winnipeg in past years, and I picked up right where I left off in 2007 by opening with rounds of 67 and 69 to find myself in a tie for 3rd place. The weekend wasn’t quite as friendly and I dropped down into a tie for 48th.
The highlight of the weekend was my trip from Winnipeg to Michigan where my flight instructor, in a plane on loan from a mutual friend, flew me into Traverse City where Mom, Dad, and Katie were there to drive me up to Boyne Mountain for the Michigan PGA’s Tournament of Champions.
The first two rounds at the Tournament of Champions were a grind as we battled some heavy rain and wind on Tuesday. I fought through it to put myself in a position to have a solid finish should I post a good final round, and I did. In a round that had 7 birdies, 1 eagle, and only 1 bogey I posted my competitive career-low round of 64 (-8). That round moved me up from a tied-19th position into 3rd place by myself. It was certainly a breakthrough round for me, and is certainly a sign of more good things to come!
On August 11th I played in a qualifier for the Nationwide Tour event in Rochester, NY. I played well, but a quadruple-bogey 7 on a par-3 knocked me out of contention. From there it was up to Montreal, site of the Desjardins Montreal Open presented by Lexus, one of the highlights of the 2008 Canadian Tour season. I again played solidly but one too many mistakes left me outside the cutline.
After another week off I was in Seaforth, Ontario for the Seaforth Country Classic, another first-year event on our schedule. I opened the tournament with a 7-under par 64 only to follow it up with a 3-over par 74 to miss the cut by 1 shot.
Although there a few open dates leading up to the PGA/Nationwide Tour Qualifying Tournament, it will be a busy fall to say the least and I will do my best to keep you all up to date!
See you down the road,
Andy
2007 Year In Review
Thursday, December 27, 2007
This past year has been an awesome one, and I want to thank all of you for your continued support. My 2007 season would not have been as much fun or rewarding if I wasn't able to share it all with you!
We are on the brink of 2008, and I anticipate another great year. Having been sidelined since mid-September due to an injury, I took advantage of a rare opportunity where I wasn't able to practice or compete for nearly four months. During that time I pursued my passion of flying and earned my Private Pilot's license, an accomplishment that I am very proud of! Yet given the excitement of flying, my desire to compete on the highest level in professional golf grew even stronger. Building on my experiences at the 2007 U.S. Open I am entering the new year with a deeper sense of appreciate for my profession and an added commitment that I know will push me to the next level.
My 2008 season will entail a series of events on the Bridgestone Winter Series in Orlando, Florida, and a full Canadian Tour schedule with events in California, Mexico, and Canada. When the schedule permits I will qualify for select PGA and Nationwide Tour events to continually test my game against those of the best players in the world. Rounding out the 2008 season will be the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament where I will make a run towards my fully-exempt status on the Nationwide Tour.
It was great seeing you all at the events this past season. There is nothing more gratifying for me than to see family and friends enjoying themselves as much as they did this past year. Know that I will do my best to create more opportunities for us to get together again in 2008! Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Andy
Many thanks!
Wednesday, June 06, 2007
Words cannot describe how happy and grateful I am to have heard from so many of you through calls, emails, and texts this week!
This will no doubt become the most memorable week of my golfing career, and I simply wanted to take a couple seconds and let you know how much I appreciate your support! I look forward to catching up with all of you soon!
Sincerely, Andy
The Road to Recovery
Wednesday, January 31, 2007
As you may or may not know, I underwent surgery last Tuesday (January 23) to have a hernia repaired that I injured late last year. After having battled through the pain and frustration of not being able to play or practice for over a month, I enlisted the services of Dr. Mark Petrites. He diagnosed the hernia and scheduled me for surgery right away, which was much appreciated given my upcoming tournament schedule.
The procedure went extremely well, so well that Dr. Petrites has already given me the "go-ahead" to get back on the golf course. I cannot tell you how good it feels to have gotten back to the place that I love, and missed so much over the past 7 weeks! While I'm still working through some soreness, I'm well on the road to recovery as I was able to hit a handful of pitch shots and practice my putting this afternoon.
With that being said, my first event of 2007 will be a ranking tournament for the U.S. Pro Golf Tour, a new developmental tour started last year. The ranking event is slated for February 21-23 in Jacksonville, FL, and I will do my best to post a complete 2007 schedule as soon as the U.S. Pro and Canadian Tours confirm their respective schedules.
In the mean time, thank so much you for your thoughts and prayers over the past week and continued support throughout the upcoming year!
Sincerely, Andy
Happy Holidays!
Sunday, November 26, 2006
During the Holiday season, especially around Thanksgiving, I cannot help but think about my family, friends, and acquaintences I've met who have supported me throughout my career. You all know who you are, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I couldn't do this without you!
As we come to the end of another year, I simply want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Prosperous New Year!
Sincerely, Andy
Many thanks!
Wednesday, November 01, 2006
Greetings from Valdosta! Just wanted to drop in and thank all of you who took the time to wish me well this week! Although I can't respond to everyone, know that I appreciate it all very much.
I'll do my best to post scores and results as the week unfolds, but be sure to check out PGATour.com for full Q-School coverage.
I feel great, and my game is right where I hoped it would be. God willing, we'll be celebrating Sunday night!
Until then, Andy
Fantastic Fall
Wednesday, September 27, 2006
It's been awhile, so apologies go all around for taking so long to post an update! Needless to say, it's been a busy fall here in the Matthews camp!
I finished the season in style with 2 consecutive top-30 finishes on the Canadian Tour, the most exciting of which was the Canadian Tour Championship in September where I found myself in contention to win my first title as a professional. But as quickly as the magic comes, it can just as easily disappear and unfortunately that's what happened that Sunday in Barrie, ON. Putting the destruction aside, I managed to finish in a tie for 20th and retain fully-exempt status on the Canadian Tour for 2007!
Since then, I've given my clubs a rest and have shifted my attention to my other love, flying. Aviation has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and after flying solo for the first time yesterday, I've begun to ask myself why I waited so long! It has been more than just a great diversion away from golf as flying has an amazing number of parallels to the game of golf, and the game of life. It's reinforced the emphasis golf puts on trust, decision making, and remembering how to have fun!
My fall schedule will remain quiet until November 1 when I will make my run for a PGA Tour Card. I will be playing Kinderlou Forest G.C. in Valdosta, GA Nov. 1-4 in the first of three PGA Tour Qualifying stages.
Until then, I'll be in Michigan practicing (on the ground and in the air) and at the Big House watching my Wolverines make their run at the BigTen and National Championships this fall! If you're around Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor, please do not hesitate to drop me an email or give me a call! Thanks again for all your support!
Sincerely, Andy
The Michigan Swing
Monday, July 24, 2006
I must say it's great to be back playing in Michigan again! After a spring spent mostly out on the West coast, my schedule is taking me back home for a few weeks.
This week I'm in Boyne Falls, MI at the Boyne Mountain Resort for the Michigan PGA Tournament of Champions. I was given a lifetime exemption to the event after winning the 2001 Michigan Amateur, and it's been a mainstay on my July calendar ever since.
Along with the "TOC" in July comes the Buick Open. I'll start my run at qualifying for my second Buick Open start this Thursday, July 26 at Fieldstone G.C. in Auburn Hills, MI. The actual "4-Spot" qualifier is held Monday, July 31 at Fieldstone G.C. as well. There, I hope to earn 1 of 4 spots into this year's Buick Open.
I'll pick up with the Canadian Tour next month as the Tour visits Montreal, Niagara Falls, and Toronto.
This week however, be sure to check out the live scoring at the Tournament of Champions by clicking HERE! I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying their summer! Again, to all of you who have sent their well wishes and encouragement, I cannot thank you enough! Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Andy
Home, Sweet Home!
Saturday, March 04, 2006
Yep, that's right, they let me back in the country! After a quick 4-week tour of South Africa I'm back in the United States and I must say, it's so nice to be writing from this side of the Atlantic again!
The 27-hour trip home took its toll as usual, but the time off in Florida to relax and recover was just what I needed to get ready for this week's start of the Canadian Tour in Texas.
I'm excited about the Tour this year, and having 2 full years of experience on most of these golf courses, my goals of earning exemption on the PGA Tour seem closer than ever! It's going to be a busy year, with only a few weeks off here and there, but I hope to be able to see many of you throughout the year when my travels permit!
In the mean time, I wish you all the best and please, stay in touch!
Sincerely, Andy

Wednesday, February 15, 2006
Hello everyone! Just checking in to give you all an update on the life and times of yours truly since the start of the New Year!
I was able to spend nearly 4 weeks back in America which was absolutely fantastic! Had so much fun catching up with those of you who I was able to see when I was up in Grand Rapids over Christmas. As usual, the time went all too quickly!
From there it was a road trip to Florida with my college roommate and good friend John Burnside. We took the scenic route (via Wilmington, NC) to visit my brother Scott and his family. Good times were had by all!
Florida was nothing less than spectacular, with plenty of time spent on the beach and by the pool. For once, golf was not a priority!
All in all, my Holiday back home was perfect. I caught up with old friends, made new ones, and got excited for 2006!
I am now in Johannesburg, South Africa (again) for the last few events on the Sunshine Tour. I've played well, had my ups and downs, and am looking forward to finishing this Tour on a high note! I'm scheduled to arrive in Florida on February 28 just in time to regroup before heading to Texas for the start of the Canadian Tour.
I hope everyone is well, and I cannot thank you all enough for your continued support. I hope to see you soon!
All the best, Andy
Happy Holidays!
Sunday, December 25, 2005
Just want to wish all my friends and family around the world a very merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and a prosperous 2006!
Thank you all for your continued support throughout the year!
All the best,
Andy

Greetings from South Africa!
Thursday, October 06, 2005
Hello everyone! Finally checking in, and wanted to give you all an update on the happenings from this side of the world. I played my first event last week in Johannesburg at Dainfern C.C. where I shot 70-72-69 to finish t19th. I played well, but definitely left a few shots on the course.
This week we're in Witbank, about an hour east of Jo'burg. The tournament begins tomorrow (Oct. 7) and runs though Sunday. I've had a great week of practice and I'm ready to get going again!
South Africa is still amazing! It's been great getting settled and catching up with everyone again. I'm excited for the season and expect good things!
I hope this finds everyone well! Looking forward to catching up and sharing stories soon!
All the best, Andy
Homeward Bound
Sunday, August 14, 2005
After a year full of tournaments spanning the globe, the Canadian Tour makes it's annual trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the Bay Mills Open Players Championship. It's always fun playing in my home state, and my game is peaking at just the right time for an exciting finish to the season!
Since my shoulder injury in March I have yet to miss a cut in any event and have averaged 71.2 in 26 competitive rounds since missing the cut at the Northern California Classic in early April. My ball striking has been as consistent as ever, and it has been my putting that has allowed me to average under par for the majority of the season.
After Sault Ste. Marie I plan to take in a pair of Michigan football games in Ann Arbor before I head to London on September 15 for the first stage of the European PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. From London I head due south for a 6-month stint on the South African PGA Tour.
I am extremely excited for my upcoming events. My game is improving daily, and with a new set of irons in the bag I'm playing with more confidence than ever!
Thanks so much for checking in, and be sure to stay tuned for more news and updates from the road!
All the best,
Andy
California Dreamin'
Sunday, August 14, 2005
Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well! Just dropping in to say hello from the West coast and the California swing of the Canadian Tour! All is going well to say the least. I'm really excited about my game and what I've been able to work on lately, especially in my full swing. The putter is coming along too, just not as quickly. I think it's still suffering from jet-lag! Anyway, we are playing a fantastic course that reminds me very much of Michigan, so I feel right at home.
I had the opportunity to spend some time in Ann Arbor a couple weeks ago with some college friends, and I must say it was a very inspiring weekend. Being back at Michigan brought back some great memories, and really fired me up for the remainder of the year. Being in the company of family and friends who are achieving so much only inspires me to do more of the same!
From here I head back to Florida for a week of practice, then it's off to Mexico for the Corona Mazatlan Classic, and then to Grand Rapids for a U.S. Open qualifier at Wuskowhan P.C. in West Olive (May 16). Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch up with many of you who I haven't seen in a while!
In the mean time, stay in touch!
Go Blue,
Andy
Almost Home!
Sunday, August 14, 2005
Well if you haven't noticed by now, I'm still hiding on the other side of the planet! I decided to extend my stay in South Africa for a few extra weeks so that I could compete in the South African PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. In order for me to come back later in the year it was mandatory for me to do so. So yes, you read correctly, I'm coming back! This is a great country and a fabulous tour. There are countless opportunities to earn exemptions onto the European PGA Tour and European Challenge Tour (Europe's Nationwide Tour) to further buld my game and enhance my career
So for now, hang in there! I'll be back State-side this Monday (March 14). Hope everyone is well.
Thanks for all your support,
Andy
Greetings from South Africa!
Sunday, January 30, 2005
Hello everyone! Just dropping in to say hello! Everything is going great down here in SA! After my 3.5 day trip to get down here I've finally settled in. South Africa is an amazing country. It's absolutely georgous, and BIG! In just the 3 weeks I've been here I've seen Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and now Sun City. Sun City is SA's version of Las Vegas. Quite impressive if I do say so! Tonight I'm off to Durban and then down the the Wild Coast for the Nashua Masters. I was hoping for a sponsor's invite for next week, but that failed to materialize. There are however 40-45 spots in the Pre-qualifier so I'm pretty confident I'll get a start.
I've been playing well, and managing to get in a few practice rounds with the guys I'm travelling with. I'm very excited about the opportunity down here. I just need to get my foot in the door and I'll be well on my way!
I've acquired a cell phone, so if any of you happen to come across an international calling card, please call! I would love to hear from you! From the States, simply dial 011 27 73 113 4369.
I hope this finds everyone well! I'll be in touch!
Wishing you all the best, Andy
Happy Holidays!
Tuesday, November 30, 2004
Thought I would drop in and wish everyone the happiest of Holidays! It is definitely the time of year to give thanks and recognize all the blessings we have, and I could not be more thankful for all the friends and family who have supported me throughout the year and helped make my rookie season on Tour as great as it was.
And for all of those finishing up their years in Michigan, Ohio, and abroad (JLB), best of luck, stay healthy, and safe travels!
FLH, Andy
October update!
Thursday, October 07, 2004
Hey friends! Just thought I would write and give you a little update on the happenings since the Bay Mills Open last August.
Well first off, I can't believe it's been nearly a month and a half since I wrapped up my rookie season. All in all I feel it went well, despite the roller-coaster ride I put myself through at the end. Having missed the 3 cuts prior to the Tour Championship, I put myself in a precarious position. I had to make the cut in the final event to keep my status for 2005, and with a lot of hard work and a huge amount of help from a lot of people, we got it done! It's such a huge relief, and I can't thank you all enough for your support throughout the year!
I am now at Mom and Dad's place in Bonita Springs, FL training and practicing for Stage #1 of PGA Tour Qualifying which will be held at the TPC of Tampa Bay October 19-22. It's not far off, and I'm feeling really good about my game, and more importance am confident that I will make it through to Stage #2, and ultimately the Final Stage in December.
So for now, I hope everyone is enjoying their fall! I look forward to seeing (or hearing from) you all very soon!
All the best, Andy
Bienvenue a Montreal!
Wednesday, July 28, 2004
Another week, another city. And this week it's Montreal, Quebec. After a close call at the Buick Open qualifier this Monday, I hopped a flight up to the French speaking capital of Canada. I honestly feel like I'm in a different country ... well I guess am I seeing that I'm not in the U.S., but Montreal has a very European look and feel. (Everything is in French!) Needless to say it's a great experience, and I'm looking forward to playing well this week.
Our host this week, the South Course at Club de golf de L'ile de Montréal (Montreal Island Golf Club) is a links-style course, similar to what you would find in Scotland and Ireland. Along with the rain showers we had this afternoon, it was truly a European experience. I hope everyone is doing well, and thanks for checking in! I'll be sure to post the fun details as the week evolves!
Au revoir, Andy
Up in Edmonton
Thursday, July 15, 2004
Hey guys .... just thought I would drop in and write a quick hello to all of you. I write this on the eve of the 4th and final tournament of the Canadian Tour's swing through western Canada. It's been an absolutely amazing trip, and I've seen some gorgeous places since taking off last month.
My game is the best it's been in years, so needless to say I'm excited for the week. Following the TELUS Edmonton Open (July 15-18) I'll be catching a red-eye flight back to Michigan on Sunday to tee it up in the Detroit Newspapers Tournament of Champions Monday afternoon. It will be a grueling trip, but one I have to make. I wasn't going to let myself go a season without playing "at home".
So with that, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
All the best, Andy
Beautiful British Columbia
Saturday, July 03, 2004
Just thought I would drop in and give everyone a little update of the last two weeks in western BC. First off, it is great to be playing the weekends again. After nearly making the cut in Virginia I spent the following week in Michigan working with my coach Charley Vandenberg on my putting. I've been hitting the ball great all year, just not scoring with the putter. So Charley and I spent a few very productive days on the practice green, and there is no doubt our work is paying off.
For those of you who have had the good fortune of spending time in this area, you all know how beautiful the area is, day and night. For those of you who haven't, put it on your list. I've seen everything from snow-capped mountains, amazing golf courses, Orca's (a.k.a., Killer Whales) in their natural environment, and even a Bald Eagle on Canada Day (July 1). So needless to say I've been having a great time both on and off the course. I'll do my best to post some photos from my adventures.
Tomorrow is the final round of our tournament in Vancouver, and of course, the 4th of July! Happy Fourth to everyone back in the States, and I'll be in touch next week from Winnipeg.
Take care, Andy
Hello from Mexico!
Tuesday, May 04, 2004
Just wanted to drop in and say a quick hello from south of the border. All is well in Mexico! The Atlas Golf & Country Club is great and the weather is perfect. We've been in the mid-80's each day.
We had a very nice reception last night with the Mayor of Guadalajara where he was nice enough to host the players at his Palace in downtown Guadalajara. It is always great experiencing a new culture, and Mexico is no different. The people are truly fantastic.
The tournament is scheduled to start on Thursday, so be sure to check back in for updates and news from Guadalajara.
Hasta luego, Andy
On The Road Again
Wednesday, April 14, 2004
Needless to say, it's great to be back on Tour. I thoroughly enjoyed my time off with friends and family in Florida, but there is something to be said about being back on the road doing what I love. I feel confident about my game, and with a new putter in the bag for the week I could not be more excited. Again, I'll do my best to update the site as frequently as possible, but in the mean time, the Canadian Tour's website, www.cantour.com will be your source! Wishing you all the best!
Andy
Back in Bonita!
Saturday, March 13, 2004
I arrived home Monday night after a pair of successful weeks in Austin, TX. Overall, I am very happy with the way I played and could not be more excited for the season ahead! I learned a lot about myself and my game, and most of all, I learned that I can compete with the best! It is going to be a great year! Also, I need to thank all of you who sent messages and well wishes the last few weeks. They are very encouraging to read and were a great way to jump-start my day. I must say they worked, so please keep 'em coming! My next tournament is the Greater Sacramento Open to be played April 15-18 at the Whitney Oaks Golf Club. In the mean time, please keep in touch and I'll do my best to do the same!
All the best,
Andy
Greetings from Austin, Texas
Wednesday, February 25, 2004
Well, here's a hello to everyone out there from Austin, Texas. I arrived yesterday and settled into my home for the next two weeks. The Canadian Tour starts the year with back-to-back events at the Barton Creek Resort & Spa.
Check back often these next couple weeks as I'll have plenty of updates and results starting Thursday!
